FEAR OF GOING INTO BUSINESS FOR YOURSELF: WHEN IS IT WORTH CONSIDERING AND WHEN IS IT WORTH IGNORING?

Do you know the feeling "I would like to start my own business, but I'm afraid that..."? If you think this is something that only happens to you, you'd better change your mind. Fears of all kinds arise for many people when life is ripe for change. After all, I don't know how it will go, whether I'll be lucky, how things will work out, whether I'll be able to manage, whether I'll have enough money to pay my taxes, and so on. Such thoughts are perfectly normal, especially if you have been employed up to now and are now considering venturing into unfamiliar territory and setting up your own business.

However, I am not suggesting that you completely ignore your fears. Listen to them. What are they saying? Those little voices that tell you that you will fail, you will not know how to do it, and you will not succeed, listen to them and ask them to shut up. What else is left? Is there anyone in your head panicking that, say, you won't manage your taxes? Or are you scared to quit your job because you don't know if you will have enough money to live on until the business starts making a profit? Scared that once you start your own business you won't have enough time for your family, children or friends?

You can even write down all these "it's scary that...". Then calmly and without panic, think things over, or even consult some specialists. Of course, be sure to thank all your fears that have prompted these questions, because they are really important and worthy of attention. Maybe it's not really worth leaving your job yet and developing a side activity alongside it for a while? Maybe you should sit down with your spouse and calmly review the family budget and see how long your savings would last "just in case"?

Do you have a number of commitments that you could hand over to someone else or give up altogether to free up more free time?

You probably know the saying that the eyes of fear are wide? We often identify with our fears and become afraid of that feeling of being scared about something. In fact, the purpose of fear is not to frustrate us. It is simply a signal of some possible danger or failure that can be prepared for in advance, by thinking about how to avoid it.

Is it still scary? Maybe you want to talk about it?

One of the fears many people have about starting their own business is the fear of publicity.
