THE SECRET TO A SUCCESSFUL BUSINESS

Having been running my own business successfully for 15 years now, I dare say I know a thing or two about it. I have come a long way over the years, stepped on more than one rake, learnt countless lessons, fallen down and got back up again. What has made my business successful and growing despite all the challenges?

Here are some of my recipes for a successful business:

1. Plan your profits. Think about how much profit you want to make, not how much you will spend, and budget your income and expenses accordingly, adjusting them regularly to suit your circumstances. Remember that where your attention is, growth is, so focus on the positive.

2. Invest. Invest not only in equipment and tools, but also in your brand, your advertising, your knowledge, your expertise and the people who will work for your dream.

3. Spend your time earning income, not saving. Think about how much time you spend trying to do things on your own instead of outsourcing to professionals. You can buy a €100 consultation to get advice on what to do and what not to do, or spend hundreds of hours learning from your mistakes. I think that I do not really need to explain what you should choose in this place.

4. Choose your staff carefully and responsibly and build good relationships with them. Be the leader of your team, lead by example and follow, but never be a dictator who just bosses and bosses around. Remember, employees are your greatest asset, they make you profits, value and invest in them.

5. Learn from your mistakes. Firefighting is about unlearned lessons. Once the lesson is learned, responsibility is taken and changes are made, fires do not happen.

6. Get involved in networking. Relationships and networking are the most direct route to success, and from this comes visibility, trust and all kinds of invisible help. And networking can help you reach almost any contact you need. And not just any contact, but a warm contact.

If you decide to start a business, it's not enough to simply have a product and know who to sell it to. You will have to deal with a lot of paperwork at the start of your business, and take the time to study all the information so that you don't have any unpleasant surprises. This can be done on your own and will require: 1. 2. Fill in the VMI forms: contacts, type of activity, [...]

One of the fears many people have about starting their own business is the fear of publicity. Yes, once you have decided to set up your own business, whatever it may be, you become somewhat of a public figure - the more public you are, the more people will take notice of the products or services you offer and the more orders or offers of collaboration you can expect. But how [...]

    How to start a business

Do you believe in astrologers, numerologists or other experts on the signs of the Universe? It turns out that a lot of people do, and their advice is very important to them. I was once approached by a woman who wanted a company to be founded on a specific date because a well-known astrologer in the community had calculated a successful business that way. The clients' wishes and [...]
